CEO Report
Our People
The company didn’t just achieve major strides in financial and policy growth, but also in our workforce. We welcomed aboard 47 new employees in 2021 (38 permanent, 9 temporary), bringing our staff total up to 217 by the end of December. In anticipation of this growth, we wanted to ensure that we were maintaining a pulse on our workplace culture and employees’ wellbeing. Answering that call came the implementation of TinyPulse, a survey platform that enables us to poll our staff and provides them a safe environment to voice their opinions, as well as an overhaul of our performance evaluation procedure. Additionally, we also arranged training for our managers and supervisors on change management to illustrate that we are prepared to see our staff through the imminent changes that come with being a part of a growing, profitable company. Last but not least, we had our entire workforce undergo a training workshop on internal customer service – “You Are My Customer” – which has helped improve our collective skills on working together.
Part of the wave of new employees was due to some corporate restructuring and response to modern-day threats. Our Business Intelligence Team has not only grown but now falls within the IT Department in order to better align our data collection and analysis with the insights we are providing to our business partners. IT also welcomed a new Project Manager to oversee the core System Replacement Project, as well as new recruits in the areas of business analysis, security, and technical architecture. Additionally, with insurance fraud on the rise, we have added a member to our Special Investigations Unit (SIU) to help investigate potentially fraudulent auto claims.
One notable change to our staff was the retirement of our previous VP of Claims, Patricia White. In her place we were grateful to welcome aboard Dan Andresen, who has been with Peace Hills since 2014. Though he did not serve as VP for all of 2021, he has already made a lasting impact and has stepped seamlessly into his new role on the Executive team.
Our People extends to our trusted Board of Directors, and as stated by our Chairman in his message, 2021 featured several new faces and some fond farewells. Changes to a Board of Directors always bring about fresh ideas, and the Executive team looks forward to working with the new members.

Our commitment to servicing our customers and brokers would not be possible without a strong foundation: our workforce. The staff at Peace Hills Insurance have proven time and time again that positive relationships are at the core of what we do.
